The Chilean Museum of Pre-Columbian Art whose pioneering initiative in Latin America custody, dissemination and study of the artistic legacy of pre-Columbian peoples of America. It was founded by prominent architect and collector of antiques Chilean Sergio Larrain Garcia-Moreno, who was looking for a place to shelter and preserve his private collection of pre-Columbian artifacts acquired during more than fifty years.

The museum has an extensive collection of material on the pre-Columbian, such as the Aztecs, Mayas and Incas, and the Chilean indigenous peoples, as diaguitas, Mapuche, Rapa Nui and selk'nam, among many other cultures.
